This morning, I came back to work, to find that a mug of PLAIN water I left behind, had a group of ants in it.. all in the middle. It's like they committed a mass suicide.
I am puzzled as to why the ants are attracted to PLAIN water. I thought it's only some sugary stuff?
Then, as I looked closer, I was surprised to see that the ants were all ALIVE!! I don't know how long they must have been swimming inside there.. but they WERE. And I always thought ants CAN'T swim. Maybe now they have ants swimming instructors.
Maybe it's a normal ant behaviour? But I can't look up for information about ants now.. Yes, so clever.. I'm in the office mah..
Then, I didn't know what to do, cause kesian la pulak.. nak pour all of them into the sink. But I can't possibly fish one by one out..because it IS the office hours. I cannot be seen standing there, fishing ants from my mug. And I cannot fish all of them out at once.. nanti semua terus lari berkeliaran all over my hands and the pantry. The auntie at the pantry saw me in deep thought, holding my mug, she checked to see if I was ok. I couldn't tell her I was thinking about these ants. So I just said.. 'errr.. nothing'
Then I remembered, they CAN swim right.. and I have no time to stand there any longer to ponder over what to do. I didn't want the auntie to get any funny ideas. So I just prayed for the best, for these ants, and poured them into the sink.
Swim ants! Swim!
I do hope they make it somewhere. Ameen.

A very cute entry... hmm i remember my father in law dun like us to kill ants. He said unless the ants really will spoil the food etc.. else he said just brush them off... ~smiles~

Nyai kata... orang2 tua dulu bilang semut dalam rumah tu macam rezeki. Lebih banyak semut, lebih rezeki!? Imagine my dilema bila pat dapur banyak semut, nak kumpulkan ke? Hmm.. Wallahualam.

Kan our water dah processed with the Newater technology. Tapi, I always though urine is salty and not sweet.
Actually, I have been seeing lots of ants at home too. They even congregate inside my children's school shoes that have just been whitened and left to dry. I told my mum perhaps they like the smell and taste of shoe whitener tak.

Bloss, kan our tap water dah mixed with Newater before they reach our pipes,but in small proportions and already certified permissible by MUIS and other Muslim scholars. So, if your plain water came from the tap or water dispenser linked to pipes, then urine formed part of it. However, if the plain water came from bottled mineral water, then not.

Newater - it's not certified permissable pasal ada sikit aje urine (or benda2 najis lain yang sejenis dengannya.) It is certified permissable, because all the najis is removed from the recycled water thru the multi step cleaning process - so much so, that the water now is as good as in it's original state (hilang bau, warna, rupa). Newater site claims it's even cleaner than rainwater.
Kalau air banyak, campur urine sikit.. i think that's more true of air sungai, laut.. etc..which is still suci.
hmm.. that still does not explain why ants are everywhere..

i used the have the same thought about small insects. dulu kumbang menjadi kegemaranku. i used to play n speak wif them. till now kot masih bercakap dgn binatang.plus plants too since i know they are all alive. that's y they always sings Allah's glory.
