the unwritten rules

the last weekend, started very late for me. Cause i was still in the office until 330am. Next day nya kan exams, tak sempat betul nak revise except for the last hour before the paper. InsyaAllah la, can pass with not-so-flying colours.

I attended 2 wedding receptions over the weekend. So as i sat thru them, i made mental notes, on the not-to-do's. and the 2 things that keep coming up is:

Loud music
I mean REALLY loud. apa hal eh.. kat wedding kena buka max volume? org nak berbual pun susah. kena pekik2. Paling tak best, kalau tengah cakap pekik2.. skali music pun stop, and you find yourself berbual kuat macam orang gila.

Enough la music IN THE BACKGROUND. loud enough for people to hear the song being played - no need to.. macam nak sumbatkan music tu kat lubang telinga kita. *mental oteMust tell that to the DJs.

Souvenir (berkat - ke bunga telur?..)
Anyway, the thing yg kita dapat bila gi jemputan tu la. I rasa kan, kalau nak decide on souvenir ni pun, biar lah yang berguna. i have been receiving a lot of small cheap vases/containers as souvenirs. Skali dua kali dapat, kalau yg cantik sangat, boleh la jugak buat piasan rumah. Tapi kalau da asik dapat aje.. da tak tahu mana lagi nak simpan sey, all these small ceramic wares.

I think cute sabun or scented candles or cake or chocolates are a better choice - boleh consume.

Itulah saja yang ingin saya sampaikan.

tadi ingat nak ceritakan jugak about my dreams. But it's just too weird to be put into words.

have a GREAT week ahead.

p,s.
*unplugged entry - cause tengah stone jugak, baru maka ubat for running nose. signing off, before i fall asleep on the laptop.

By the way, my weekday start on Tuesday this week =D

Salam.

cursor c1 is

select baju, tudung, socks
from almari
where
baju = "tak leceh"
and baju = "tak yah gosok"
and
(tudung colour = baju colour
or tudung colour = "black ")
and
(socks colour = baju colour
or socks colour like "black");

begin
for r1 in c1 loop

wear r1.baju, r1.tudung, r1 socks;

insert into hoversack (front_compartment, main_compartment)
values ("phone", "camera");

wear black shoes;

if day in list (mon, tue, wed, thur, fri)
exec go ofis;
go home;

else if day = sat
exec go ofis;
go kelas;
go home;

else if day = sun
exec lepak;

if die,
end loop.

Hmm.. masih imperfect this program? Haven't include if prayer time, pray, if hungry eat, if thirsty, drink.
Haven't include reactions to sight, sound, feelings, thoughts etc etc etc..
We, the human beings are sooooooo complex, the clockwork in us are way too advanced, too perfect. Subhanallah.
Our brains, a wonder of it's own.

"And in the creation of yourselves and the fact that animals are scattered (through the earth), are signs for those of assured Faith."
Al Quran, Al-Jathiya 45:4

to be everywhere

socks, as you can see

Armed with new determination, new shoes and new socks, I face this week.

I'm trying to figure out how i feel, what my mood is. I'm not particularly sad, nor am I happy. I guess I am in a tafakkur state - thinking.

There are a few important & serious stuff happening around me, to people close to me. I have to thank Allah SWT for being in the state that I am in. Others are facing greater challenges. I hope I can be of some solace to them. I hope I am able to comfort them, to give them the right advice. At the same time wondering, if I am the right person to give advice. But then, nobody is perfect right? We do and give the best we can.

Then there are a few other good family/friends, I have not been able to catch up with. I wish I can give them some of my time. But I'm torn between family, studies, work, extended family and friends.
But I guess, I can work more on setting priorities and dividing time, AND having some DISCIPLINE. Allah help me.

And reading Sahalfikiri's entry of 25th Nov, pun makes me determined to be a good mother to my children.
I pray that I will be able to be the friend, they can confide in. But now they are still young, so more of a mother than friend. :)

And then, myself. Yes, myself. What have I been doing? Have I been doing anything to upgrade myself? make me a better person? Was my day better the the days before? Why do I do the things I do? I need to ponder on the question put forth by Allah SWT:

"Whither(to what place), then, will you go?"
Al Quran, At-Takwir 81:26

We seek assistance and guidance from Allah SWT.
And my prayer for all of us:
patience, strength in facing the challenges, and our iman to be strong.

I do love u all, LILLAH.

sunday, unplugged

just now was Quran papers. How did I do? I think macam cukup makan aje lah gitu. I did my best, but of course, my best was not the best of the best. Could be better. could be more rajin, could, could, could. Anyway, it's not the end, next week masih ada.

Tadi exams was near Arab st, so apa lagi? lepas exams, go down there. And look what we found! A small turkish restaurant, called Ala Turki (i think). Food is........err... turkish. But after food, we wandered to a beautiful room, in the restaurant, and started snapping away. Macam kat Turkey right? Yok ke Turki, yok!

<

And after that, we shopped, till we almost drop. I HAD to get my shoes, yang da buruk sangat ni. Yes, i'm not like most other girls I know, who has 101 shoes in their storeroom. I also don't buy handbags and jewelleries much - tak kuasa nya nak pakai tukar2. Serious, untung laki aku.
Shoes, I only use 1 pair, until macam da nak rabak, then I get a new pair. But just now, I got me a sandal too. =D

then, balik, hubby ajak gi vivo city pulak. Yes, YT - at last I went to the much talked about vivocity. Nice view of Sentosa and the bridge. Reminds me of the esplanade. hadi and hanaa, diorang gi fishing dengan Atuk. So, it's only eema and nadh.

>

I guess I had a good weekend. Fagged, but it was good. I hope you did too!

And tomorrow is the dreaded Monday. Work days should start on Tuesdays.. (yeah right)

signing off,
blossom, seriously unplugged*.

*unplugged - when used in an email or letter or any writings of sorts, it means that it's not proofread or edited. So any grammatical or spelling errors.. or sentences or words that doesn't seem to make sense, should be deciphered or ignored - whichever is easier to do.

Penat ah.. nak tidur.

home alone

i can't remember the last time i was ever alone at home. Maybe never?

On monday (i think it was monday) I went to the new national library to get resources for my assignment. masyaAllah, i tell you.. the place is big and... cantik ah jugak. Taking the lift down, from 11th floor, with a view of the city and the road below, was like taking the roller coaster, sikit. Weeeee!!!

This week eema completed her madrasah orientation :) next one, next month. during orientation, ada talk for parents. We learned how boys learn differently from girls. Shall read more on that, after this semester's exams. insyaallah.
(Actually, I have lots of books waiting to be read.)

Then, Hadi pulak ada musical. he was asked to join by his teacher. He didn't let us go and watch. Dia malu, he said. But we did, without his knowledge. Sedih sey kalau tak pegi tengok. It's quite a big scale production.

He was delighted when I surprised him with a videoclip, I had quickly put up, of his performance. (balik aje from his musical, kelam kabut buat) =D

but the part I AM happy about is, back at home, when i asked him to do his isya' prayers, he said that he had already done it during the show interval, backstage. Alhamdulillah. This is what I want - the children can go do whatever they like (as long as tak langgar syara'), but they must always be God-conscious.

*disclaimer - that musical poster was, of course, doctored by the mother to feature her own son :p.

Serious news:
An auntie was admitted to ICU, day before yesterday. She had a mild stroke few days back and was admitted, and da balik. But now her health has taken a turn for the worse. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun.

Help me pray for her recovery and comfort, and what's best for her. And to her daughter, be patient darling sis. Perservere. It's Allah's test.

And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast,
Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! we are Allah's and Lo! unto Him we are returning.
Al Quran, Al Baqarah 2:155-156

*takes a deep breath*

Right. Besok exams.

Ok dah. Gi belajar lah!!!!!!
