Oft-Forgiving

تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ

Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;-

He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;-

Al-Mulk 67:1-2

As I prayed, and thought about my weakness, how I often go back to forgetfulness and my lack of determination and discipline - I was worried.  And I prayed that God guide me and make me more firm and disciplined.

And then I read the ayat shown above, and it brought me solace.   Allah created us, put us on earth to test us and see which of us in best in deed.  Yet at the end of it, Allah says He is Oft Forgiving.  

God knows we are weak and God assures us, He is Oft Forgiving, if we just keep trying our best to improve and keep our good deeds.

God is Oft-Forgiving.
