just now i read about an actor who was in the midst of preparing a movie script.
it got me thinking.. i guess almost all of malay movie scripts were written by people within the industry - and most of these people, i guess, do not mix much with the masses.
That's why then, i guess most of the movies are something, quite out of fantasy. Attempts to reflect the REAL life can sometimes be seen, but still not enough.
It's ok for slapsticks or comedies. But love stories, family drama - should reflect something more REAL. It's quite important actually - so that people do not think there is a perfect answer to everything, and girls do not get the false hope or expectations of getting someone as romantic and nice and as perfect, as reflected in the movies. Because, here's a NEWSFLASH. there is no such thing as a perfect answer or person.
Although we don't admit it, these movies DO HAVE an impact on our thoughts. Yes, I am a firm believer that the media, including the movies, shapes the minds of the masses. So it's important to use back this medium to get to the masses.
So I was thinking, perhaps i'd write a script for a malay movie.
Actually there is one ready. It's about a chance meeting of 2 people from different world - a successful muslimah lady and a guy who is a blue collared worker. But I need to go over it again and again. Think about the message I'm trying to put across.
Of course, if you know me... i don't know when that'll happen. but, at least i finished the draft.
Ok, so after i go through a few edits, i'll just have to find a few tens of thousands of dollars to produce this movie.
right.
